Jingle Bells Song: Post Merry Christmas Sentiments

Jingle bells, Jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh what fun,
It is to ride,
In a one-horse open sleigh
Hey!
#
Dashing through the snow
On a one-horse open sleigh,
Over the fields we go,
Laughing all the way
#
Bells on bobtails ring,
Making spirits bright,
What fun it is to laugh and sing
A sleighing song tonight,
(Oh! )
#
Jingle bells, Jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh what fun
It is to ride
On a one-horse open sleigh
Hey!

Another Face By Ray A. Young Bear (Tama, Iowa)

This rock halfway out of the snow
turns away from the daylight
and cradles small blue footprints
into his stomach.
At night, they mark the snow again
keeping close to the rock.

Bus Stop By Donald Justice

lights are burning
in quiet rooms
where lives go on
resembling ours.
.
The quiet lives
that follow us-
These lives we lead
But do not own-
.
Stand in the rain
so quietly,
when we are gone,
so quietly.
.
And the last bus
comes letting dark
Umbrellas out-
Black flowers, black flowers.
.
And lives go on,
And lives go on
Like sudden lights
At street corners.
.
or Like the lights
In quiet rooms,
Left on for hours,
Burning, burning.

The Confession

No shame,
There is nothing to fear,
you have crossed many rivers,
your footsteps are strong.
.
Veiled in silence you've sworn to,
you don't work for recongnition,
No barried stop you, no strings attached,
You're a golden star.
.
Out of smoke you flee,
Into blind woods you go under the tree,
Street life is not what you need to be free,
On a lone road, you rise, joyful and gay.

Blandeur by Kay Ryan

If it pleases God,
Let less happen.
Even out earth's
rondure, flatten
the Grand Canyon.
Make valleys
slightly higher,
Widen fissures
to arable land,
Remand your
terrible glaciers
and silence
their calving,
halving or doubling.
All geographical features
toward the mean.
Unlean against our hearts,
Withdraw your grandeur
from these parts.

Fed Up With It!

Fed up with it
as if a song
is sung over and over
for years
without inspiring,
On and off,
but without
updated interests;
Now building up
something
that corrects,
the field on both
sides of the fence
move and integrate-
as one.  what
beauty when
seen under the sun
and they love the run.

Celebration for My Mother By Wendy Rose

mother is the best comfort at baby times

Tickled,
My thoughts wander
through the whys and wherefores
of your hollybranch life,
Yet wonder where it all began,
When now I see it ending.
.
Watch you looking somewhere else, shut down,
nibbling at your mud-foot,
Brushing the cat hairs from your lap.
I perspired in your world twenty five years
and think I could have known better
than to roll heavily on the perimeter
of ethnic pride. I deserve to die with the grace
of each question forming in my eyes
that are darker than yours, and wider.
.
But I couldn't share my pain with you.
There in our separate hiding rooms.
I try not to lose that tiny thread
connecting happy to sad.
So, my thoughts remain iridescent
and tender when I reach the question
I send blowing through your hair:
please believe in me.

The Banyan Tree, Old Year's Night By Derek Walcott

In the damp park, no larger than a stamp,
The rainbow bulbs of the year's end are looped.
To link the withered fountain, and each lamp
flickers like echoes where small savages whooped.
.
The square was this town's center, but its spokes
burn like a petered pinwheel of dead streets,
Turning in mind the squibs of boyish jokes,
Candy-striped innocents and sticky sweets.
.
Soaring from littered roots, blackened with rain,
With inaccessible arms the banyan tree
Heavens in the year's last drizzle to explain.
What age could not, responsibility?

Hyde Park Thursday Poets Rally Week 76: October 31-November 7, 2012

To give him the first perfect impression,
she has to spend money prior to love confession,
She may wear a high-heeled shoe,
with her eyebrows painted light blue;
She may have her teeth brushed
and pretend that he's the only one
with whom she's crushed,
She may borrow his car for an event
and invites him home as a modest friend,
She may drug him into sex
and plot a baby to get rid of his ex.
She could be a witch if she decides to fetch
some poisonous potions
to advance her positions.
She can be a sweet liar
and set many targeted men on fire.

The Bumblebee

Bumblebee (Huang Mi Feng)

Round ball eyes,
Yellow orange wings,
Oval shaped body,
Sharp and Harmful teeth,
It hums in the air,
It stings at you, how dare?
Apply milk if you're stung,
Let it sing and give it respect,
Bumblebees are big yellow bees
that remind us yellow school buses,
Let it bee,
Let it run,
Free all the bumblebee,
Joy finds You and Me!

Thanks for the perfect poet award, I am humbled to take it,
I nominate Aya Wilson for week 76..

Texas State Flower: Bluebonnet Beauty (Haiku)

Google.com

Texas state flower,
Purple, lean, and tender being,
Bluebonnet spirits.
.
Stretch across the open field,
Bluebonnets wave at clear sky,
Elegance valid.
.
Austin, UT, Texas,
oil rich state, hot red summers,
Merry Bluebonnet!
.
Behind leafy bush,
Under puffy clouds, dances
Bluebonnet beauty.

The Short Story (Poetry)

Google.com

A photo
                    the story,
A note
                    the glory,
A rejection
                    so sorry!

                                                A date
                                                            that cooks
                                                                        romance,
                                                A hint
                                                            that books
                                                                        assurance.

                    Pluck
                                    a kiss,
                    Confess
                                    it's love in sight,
                    Confidence
                                    sets the fire white!
